Frequently Asked Questions

What do I do if I make a clinical error?
Report it immediately to your preceptor. Never attempt to cover up or minimize an error. Patient safety is always the priority. Document what happened objectively per site protocol.
Who do I contact if I'm unhappy with my rotation?
First, try to address the concern directly with your preceptor in a professional manner. If unresolved, contact your Program Director or Clinical Coordinator.
What if I don't meet the minimum requirements?
Contact your clinical coordinator as soon as you recognize you may fall short. Do not wait until the last week. Early communication is essential.
Can I access patient records remotely?
No. Access is restricted to approved clinical workstations within the facility. Do not access patient records from personal devices.
What is the protocol if a patient refuses a student?
Always respect the patient's right to decline student involvement. Step outside gracefully and inform your preceptor immediately.
